May 26, 1993 The Kyrgyz Republic entered IOM as a state observer
April 15, 1997 IOM opens official Mission in the Kyrgyz Republic
February 03, 1998 Cooperation Agreement in the field of migration between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Mission of the International Organization of Migration has been signed
November 02, 2000 The Kyrgyz Republic has been accepted as a full state member of IOM on the EOM’s 80th Session
August 12, 2002 IOM Office is opened in Osh
January 30, 2003 Legislative Assembly of Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic has ratified Cooperation Agreement in the field of migration between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Mission of the International Organization for Migration
April 15, 2003 The President of the Kyrgyz Republic has aigned the Law on ratification of Cooperation Agreement in the field of migration between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Mission of the International Organization for Migration
September 01, 2010 In September 2010, IOM established a Mission with coordination functions for Central Asia in Astana, Kazakhstan, in order to coordinate migration initiatives and efforts at the Central Asian regional level. IOM Mission in Kyrgyzstan is part of this Central Asian Operational Strategy.
