Promoting Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship in Batken

Batken – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has launched a series of training sessions in Batken focusing on financial literacy and entrepreneurship. This initiative, which commenced on 15 January, aims to empower 80 returned migrants, and is funded by UK International Development from the UK government.

The training will culminate in a business presentation contest where participants will pitch their ventures. Finalists will receive additional support through the 1+1 scheme, which includes 50% of their own funds matched by a 50% grant. IOM intends to distribute 20 grants based on criteria such as sustainability and innovation.

This initiative is part of the broader regional IOM project, "Safe Migration of Seasonal Workers from Central Asia to the UK," which seeks to enhance the protection and well-being of seasonal agricultural workers from Central Asia and contribute to the economic development of the region.
